Walk with Me!

Hi! My name is J, and welcome to my online travel photo journal of some sort.

I am a Filipino expatriate who recently immigrated to the UK after working as a Paramedic Educator in Qatar for a couple of years. My current goal is to pass OSCE, an exam I’m scheduled to take in roughly a month, so I can legally work as a Nurse in the UK. After which, I will only be required 37.5 hours a week to work at the hospital, which gives me 130.5 hours that I will unevenly divide to sleep, do household chores, probably go to the gym, and fulfill my long-standing aspiration of being able to have enough time and money to travel.

This eagerness stems from an accident that happened more than a decade ago. I was hit by a car speeding downhill, flung 3 meters away, and knocked unconscious, but miraculously only suffered abrasions on my face and limbs. I was only 20 then, but I could have died. That horrific episode fueled my desire for exploration because, as the words of St. Augustine go: “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” And what good is a book that’s barely read?

I haven’t decided yet what will become of this page, but I will be posting photos that portray my travel experiences and probably some photography projects. With this blog, I also hope to share information and ideas that might be helpful to fellow travelers and photo enthusiasts.

I really should be studying for my OSCE right now.
